My Nursing Goals

For instance, during my father’s long recovery time, I sat by his side every day taking care of his needs. These long stays were made easier due to the wonderful care of the nurses. We started to develop an emotional bond with these people who were constantly there for our needs. The work these nurses do inspired my interest towards this occupation. I reflect upon my past and constantly put myself into different fields to test my different interests, strengths, and weaknesses. I grew up in a family that had very little to provide for me. I hope to volunteer at hospitals, clinics or places that will provide me with healthcare experience. I am looking forward to joining academic and nursing organizations such as the UT’s Nursing Students' Association where students have similar passions as me. Having a vast amount of experience with organizations, I believe that I can strengthen and bring a lot to the school’s many organizations. Since I will be complete with my core curriculum by the end of this spring semester, I will start my required prerequisites the following fall semester if accepted into UT’s Pre-nursing. I aim to get nothing less than a letter grade of B, but I will consider retaking the course if that shall happen. I will make room in my schedule to meet with study groups and professors more often for a better understanding of the subject. I will prepare myself for the upper-division nursing sequence and the National Council Licensure Examination by reading books and reviewing test

They think I’m at a huge disadvantage compared to most of my young classmates. However, I believe that my genuine interest and enthusiasm in nursing will help me to excel in this field and achieve my career goal. After all, “nothing is impossible to a willing heart”.…
