My Name: Milla Jovovich

Decent Essays
My name is Milla, Me-la. You know like Mila Kunis or Milla Jovovich it’s an easy name to pronouce . Yes, I do get the occasionally “ Miee- Myallia- Mi Mi-”, its Milla and yes I am here. I know not everyone is perfect and can say my name correctly, but it does get annoying when it gets worse and worse as time go on. Sometimes i wished i had a normal name like Alex. simply right everyone knows how to say it and its unisex so thats a plus.

That is why everyone should be proud of their heritage and where they came from. The poem "Depression Days" by Pat Mora, and the short story "Names/Nombres" by Julia Alvarez both clearly stated this. Currently, as an immigrant in Canada, my whole life is being influenced differently by microsystem . The greetings of the elderlies which was compulsory for me doesn’t hold sway over here in Canada at all. It is difficult for children to greet their seniors let alone greet strangers. If at all some do (greet), they do it with an annoying reluctance, as they continue to use such language as I will term offensive, given it informal nature like, “hi” to greet. Aside from this, teachers, Doctors, Pastors are called by their first names over here in Canada.…
