From the start, I didn’t expect NJROTC to have much of an impact on me. Many of my peers regarded the program as very tedious, and mentioned that it was filled with students who avoided an ‘actual class’. Although there were many misconceptions being thrown around, I wanted to become part of the family. I’ve always had an interest in joining the military and serving my country, so when this opportunity arose, I took advantage of it. I’ve only been in the program for five months, however I’ve learned more about leadership and true maturity than I ever had in my life.
