INTJs value their thoughts and opinions, and stick to them. However, they are generally not arrogant, and only express their confidence in what they are certain of and what they have great knowledge in (Heiss, 2009). I feel that this matches my own personality well. I am confident in my abilities in areas where I am very knowledgeable, such as chemistry and biology. When I discuss topics in these areas with others, I nearly always stand up for my own opinions on the matter unless another other person gives an argument which I judge to be stronger than my own. However, I am not as confident in other areas, such as physics. When it comes to physics problems, I usually remain fairly reserved, and will only express my opinion or idea if I know that it is correct. This trait also illustrates the ability of INTJs to understand the difference between what they know and what they don’t know (Heiss, 2009). It is important for me to realize when I am discussing a field where I have little or no experience, and I generally prefer to focus on solving problems within my areas of …show more content…
While due to their introverted nature they often do not immediately take a leadership position, they will take the lead on a project if they see it is necessary in order for the project to move forward or if they are asked to do so (“Portrait of an INTJ,” 2014). When they do take the lead on projects, however, their traits and knowledge in specific fields allows them to be effective leaders. One key leadership trait that INTJs possess, which has already been discussed, is self-confidence (“Portrait of an INTJ,” 2014). This allows them to push for their ideas if they know they are the most efficient, and they are willing to question others if they know that the current idea is ineffective. Further, INTJs possess the confidence to implement what they know is right, even if others express their doubts. This allows them to get things done efficiently and effectively. A second key leadership trait which INTJs possess is intelligence and knowledge. INTJs not only have knowledge in their field, but they also possess the intelligence required to implement ideas based on their vast knowledge to improve the efficiency of the company. This allows leaders who are INTJ to understand the issues they face, and to implement plans which will properly address these issues in a timely and efficient
