My Motivation To Pursue My Writing Career

This gave me exposure to writing and made me want to write a little. Motivation was not hard for me because writing was just not my thing. Practice was something that hardly ever happened though. And feedback was something that kinda hurt me a little when I first started writing.
Exposure to writing is very important. For me however, exposure is very common. I saw writing all the time when someone would read to me. When I was little my parents would always read to me, regardless if it was for fun or if it was for school. With all this exposure, it made me feel different about books and all other kinds of writing. Exposure to something is always good, so reading more books,

Getting motivated to study for a test, or for a big game or even the next day is always good for you. Motivation for writing is no different, because if you are not into or motivated for the game or event, you will not do good. The same applies for writing, if you do not want to do the paper, chances are that you will not do good on the paper. Me personally, improving my motivation for writing is something that needs to change. Motivation for writing a paper is hard for me because, writing was just something that did not interest me a whole lot. Ever since I was little, reading to me was either fun or not fun to me and writing to me was always never fun. I would think of all this stuff that I was going to put down but then at the last second I would change my idea and writing became difficult to me. I need to improve the positive motivation for writing, as long as the amount of motivation for writing. Thinking positive when it comes to writing a paper is something that could change my entire outlook on writing, and make writing a whole different story for

It’s interesting, really, to see some of my old papers from middle and high school. I look back and laugh at the time, maybe around the third grade, when my classmates and I would groan and complain about having to write an ENTIRE PARAGRAPH. Now, after years of writing significantly longer academic papers that stretch far beyond a simple paragraph, my style and the depth of my topics have evolved based on what I’ve read. The most important pastime for anyone who wishes to write, unsurprisingly, is to read a wide variety of material, starting at a young age. Studies have shown that children who read more than their peers exhibit a larger vocabulary as well as more complex writing styles.…

Most people write a free write to start off their paper; just to get their mind going but that doesn 't work for me. I have to visualize things to get my mind going, this method works more than people think it does. I like to draw a Chart, Outline, or even a diagram about my topic for me to write anything first. I just can 't start writing, its more of mental issue. I like to have things in order for me to start.…

Adequate writing was always a struggle for me because I struggled with coming up with topics to write about. Even when teachers gave us prompts to write about I struggled writing about them mostly because I thought writing was boring. Another reason I was discouraged by writing was I would spend hours at a time trying to come up with ideas for a prompt and would barely come up with any ideas to write about. Being a civil engineering major I see why writing is so important in my career field. My experience with writing has had its good moments and its bad moments.…

Project #1: Literacy Narrative I remember walking across the lawn from our tiny add on classroom, up the stairs, and into the second grade class. Walking to my assigned desk directly in front of the window, I sat down in front of my best friend. Sometimes, sleepy and tired, I stared at the giant oak tree in our school yard and watching the clouds move. My first experience with writing was in fourth grade.…

As a writer I work best in quiet places where I have the ability to write with no interruptions. My mind has to be completely free of all other thoughts to write a great paper. Having time beforehand to think about what I am going to write about helps me to be able to sit down and immediately start writing. I also feel successful when I not only write a lot, but when all of the writing is good, I feel as though I have many strengths as well as weaknesses.…

Ironically, I had no motivation to write the paper. So I decided to sit down and write down a list of why I wasn’t feeling motivated to write the paper. I came up with interesting topics that made me realise that I was really an unmotivated person. The topics I came up with included things such as my weak desire for success, laziness, and lack of confidence. After making my list I realised that my attitude towards schoolwork was taking me nowhere.…

Reading and writing have impacted my life in numerous ways; in fact, reading books has impacted my life by expanding my vocabulary. My mother would read difficult books to expose me to broad new words to me at a young age. She would also have me study dictionaries, and continuously give me spelling test. When I got a little older I would start to read books on my own. I would read books that opened up my imagination; such as the series, The Magic Tree House.…

The first time I encountered writing and reading and generally enjoyed the idea of both was around my early years in elementary school. I was one of those kids that hung out in the library and just read for the fun of gaining knowledge on things I didn’t know or thought about. Growing up In Adelphi, Maryland my grandmother would take me to the local library every two weeks so, I was always occupied by reading. I learned how to check in and out books and was privileged enough to have my own library card. My grandmother always explained to me and my younger sister how important reading is and how far education can get you; expectually will me being a young black male.…

I have always considered my relationship with writing to be very insignificant. Although I enjoy spending time verbally expressing my thoughts and feelings to others, it becomes difficult when these thoughts and feelings are expressed through writing. Throughout my adolescent years, I would often receive feedback for my writing given by the teacher in the form of a grade. Being unable to effectively organize my thoughts and ideas into words and sentences, I would feel reluctant to continue writing confidently whenever I received an undesirable grade.…

When I was young I was never the best at reading even though my parents owned many books and magazines that they read on a daily basis. My mother enjoyed reading her gossip magazines that she would receive in the mail once a month and my father had a whole bookshelf full of history books. My parents would always encourage me to read the books I would check out at the school library to improve my reading and writing but that advice usually went in through one ear and out the other. The only books I would really attempt to read had to be humorous or horrifying, my favorites were the Goosebumps collection. I loved reading these books alone in my room where I couldn’t be sidetracked by all the commotion that went on in my house.…
