My Hero's Journey Research Paper

A hero is someone who “Embodies the aspirations of a people and has special powers, usually derived from some direct relationship with the divine.”(Leeming, David). The journey that they undergo in order to become known as a hero is known as a hero’s journey, and includes many different steps that allow the character to become known as a ‘hero’ in the end. A loved one of mine whose life has been very similar to that of a hero’s journey, is my mother. My mother is someone that I consider a hero because of the many different experiences and journeys she had to face in order to get to where she is today. This in many cases of the hero’s journey is seen by a reward that the hero receives whether it be literal or figuratively. The hero is always celebrated by those closest around him once he has returned home from the long and tough journey. “It could be a cause for celebration, self-realization or an end to strife, but whatever it is it represents three things: change, success and proof of his journey.” (Nuvotech Limited). This step in the journey is where my mother is currently. Though the resolution step of hero’s journey is usually a short period of time, when comparing it to my mother’s life it is the current period is living in. She has found happiness with her life, and is in a place where she is proud to be. All the hard work she has done, and the countless hours she has spent studying her class material have paid off allowing her to be in the place that she is in
