How do you find out you have made a mistake in order to be successful?

In this essay it is not possible to be successful without having any errors.

I learned most of my mistakes from football and at school.

In my freshman year of practice I had got a back injury on my lower spine, therefore it stopped me from trying hard. My sophomore year I had anxiety since I was moving up to the junior varsity team. In my junior year I was delaying our strength and speed camp. So it made me dehydrated on that first day of practice. Once I realized that my skills in football were underutilized, I simply accepted the reality of

I had just gotten back from Junior Olympics (for track and field) in Houston Texas, in which I competed in Javelin, and The 100m Dash, where I strained my hamstring after finishing the biggest race of my life. As summer came to an end, football was right around the corner. Being the stubborn teenager, I refused to sit out and heal; Football was the biggest thing I looked forward to all year. The first week of practice went by painfully; I remember finding myself with an ice bag around my strained hamstring every night. By the end of the week I couldn’t endure the pain, but I made the team, there was no going back.…

My coaches, my parents, my siblings, my friends, and just about anyone that was close to me was trying their hardest to get me back on the field. I tried my hardest to take in the words of my loved ones and use them to encourage myself to return to the field and put the haunting memories of seeing the ball flying at my head and being on my back, looking up at the sky into a mess of blurry nothingness. I came to watch my team play their first two games, only to see them lose both of them. I kept saying to myself, “Just do it. They’re counting on you.…

During the three nights of tryouts, I was always the first one to finish the sprints, I hustled on every play, and left everything I had on the court. Confident in the way I played, I checked the results when they came out–I had been cut for the second year in a row. My heart dropped and millions of thoughts ran through my mind–I should stop playing basketball, I wasted all my time on something useless, hard work does not pay off. After pondering on these thoughts for several days, I decided to rededicate myself to the sport; I found a more competitive AAU team to play for, IYB Basketball and Wayne PAL Wolfpack, and found myself a trainer. Everyday after finishing my schoolwork, I either went to the gym to lift and play basketball or went to an AAU practice or game.…

You can't always be perfect as then everyone that plays football will be NFL superstars right out the gate. There's a reason why one team loses and one team wins, it's because the team that lost just made the most mistakes in that game as opposed to the winning team. It won't be all your fault if you make a mistake or lose anyway as you are a team and someone could have prevented the mistake from occurring. Also don't take it personally when a coach yells at you as they are only stressed because of the responsibilities and want you to get better. Just remember we are all human and just learn from that mistake so you can prevent it from happening…
