These letters were able to pin point my mistakes and success during my quest. In my midterm portfolio letter to my partner, I was able to assess my work and see which ones I need to revise before I turn in my final portfolio. It was also a good thing that my partner was able to write me a letter to see what I need to work on. Also, hearing another person’s view about my work helps me to better my writing. Just assessing my own work is not enough. I am doing all these things throughout my journey and I am just that person who needs assurance that I am doing it right. So hearing from my partner and knowing what I need to work on really helps me improve my work as a writer. If I had to make a choice to identify one lesson that has changed me most, it would be learning that there is no such thing as a perfect paper. There is always room for revision. The class truly highlights this component. It allowed me to learn from my mistakes. Knowing that I always have the chance to grow as a writer is one thing that helped me better myself. This took away the pressure of making sure my paper would receive a good grade. I was able to focus more on writing what I truly feel than making sure my grammar is in every sentence I write. Because of this opportunity, I felt the freedom to just write away and not worry about technical writing skills till I truly had my point shinning throughout my paper.
