My Michigan Hero Research Paper

My Michigan hero is my Grandpa, because he was very special to me in many ways. One of the special ways is that he liked fishing and I like fishing as well. I caught my first catfish with him. Now since he is dead I fish all the time. I remember every time I go fishing in his pond I always think about him. I remember one time that we were fishing and then we saw a muskrat so he got his gun out and tried to shoot it. We never saw it again. After he died, I did not even really fish in about 2 years and now that is my favorite thing I do when I have free time. Another thing my Grandpa had in common was that we both liked the Chicago Bears. They play football and they were good at the time. Every Thanksgiving, we would go to my grandpa's house

When one thinks of Detroit or Michigan in general, they automatically think of the musicians and sports teams that came from there; Madonna, Eminem, Kid Rock, The Tigers, The Lions, and The Red Wings. One assumes when someone talks about Detroit that they live there and give the person the utmost respect despite only visiting or living outside of the city. What caused Detroit's descent from a wealthy, vital city into one where "ruins" are common and the city is bankrupt? The lack of care and concern from the people who are in the charge of the city and its people. Despite all of these attractions, the city is still in ruins and is still in major debt.…

Who is a hero for you? Many people answer that from superheroes to a war hero because people have different views on heroes. However, heroes are for me people who think of others first before they think of themselves. The best example of heroes is Terry Fox who was a Canadian and marathoner. Even though Terry Fox had his right leg amputated at the knee because of cancer, he tried to run across Canada to raise money for people with cancer, so many Canadian admire him.…

My Michigan Hero Essay If I had to describe how I feel the only way I can is by saying that I feel like a pane of glass that's been shattered and put back together with ductape that doesn't stick, or like I'm drowning in my own depression. One person has always been able to bring me back to a little bit happier state, that person is my 53 year old grandpa who is also a tow truck driver, a semi driver, and a fireman. My grandpa has always been special to me because no matter what I do or how I feel he can manage to put a smile on my face. I remember going to my grandpa's "adopted" parents (Flourence and Neal's) house which also happens to be who he works for when he's driving tow trucks.…

I remember my uncle taking my cousins and I to Duns River Falls in Jamaica. At the bottom of the falls he took me from the shallow ends to the deep end, a good area where my head remained above the water if I stood on my tippy toes. My uncle laid his arms underneath me and taught me to relax and float. From time to time he would slowly remove his arms, allowing me to float without his support. I would freak out when I realized that his arms where no longer there holding me.…

Everyone has a hero, either it's their mom, dad, family member, or whoever it maybe. A hero to me is someone who drives you to do better and that can be anyone. Beowulf was the anglo- saxon’s hero because he was believed to be the man and the most powerful during his reign, my hero isn’t even a powerful fighter but he as strong and considered a king and that is Lebron James. To me he is a leader, very reliable, and will be unforgettable, and Beowulf and Lebron has a lot of similar traits During the Anglo-saxon period Beowulf was the king of the Geats. “I shall fulfill that purpose, prove myself with a proud deed or meet my death here in the mead-hall."…
