My support system started with my second grade teacher, Ms. Luft, who helped me through the hardest part, even showed up at my high school graduation to see me walk. She never hesitated to answer my email, even after I started secondary schooling. Then of course my mom, who sat with me, reading the same books till I understood and could read it on my own. She would let me sit on the counters, reading her cook books to her while cooking. My dad helped by putting subtitles on the TV screen so if I wanted to watch it I had to read. Even if reading the subtitles to Sports Center was not my idea of fun on a Monday night. The most fun was having all my sibling on my side quizzing my spelling to better my abilities. All four of us sat in a circle run through words on my list. I had to learn how to succeed, no one could teach me how to believe in myself, and no one could force me to gain the knowledge. As soon as I was able to read books on my own, I grabbed anything I could to help myself learn more. The best book was Such A Pretty Face, it is a story about gaining self-esteem, even with the most embarrassing traits. As I took my steps closer and closer to where I needed to be, I found a love for reading, it was so easy to get lost in stories. Then as my read progressed to where it was supposed to be, I started writing my own stories. My stories would only be around 4 pages or so, but my imagination ran wild. I wrote about owning a horse, going to the moon, even tried to write about a secret spy. I learned to love things I hated after the accident, and with that, I learned to have a positive attitude on
