In the movie My Man Godfrey, we see that the rich are both entitled and crazy. In the beginning of the movie we see Cornelia approach Godfrey, a complete stranger living by the dump, and offer him money to help her complete her scavenger mission to find a “forgotten man”, humiliating Godfrey. She dehumanizes Godfrey by rendering him as just an item on her scavenger hunt. Her sister, Irene Bullock, enlists in Godfrey’s help so that she can beat her sister in the scavenger hunt. Godfrey agrees and when Irene brings Godfrey in so that she can get credit for finding a forgotten man, Godfrey seems to be the only sane person there.
