My computer is an Apple MacBook Pro 13’. A MacBook is part of Apple’s computer family and was introduced in 2006. Every since then, technology has improved greatly and now a lot of the newer Macs are enhanced. For example, in 2013, Apple released “retina display” to their computer family to enhance the screen for consumers to use. The new retina display screens are way more bright and clear. I mainly use my MacBook for everything, from watching Netflix, to doing all different types of school work, and etc. Having a laptop means a lot to me and has changed my life because there are so many different functions it can do. It is so fast and makes everything easier to do. My MacBook is also connected to my iPhone, so whatever I can do on my phone

This is the most recent update and was updated in Septemeber 2015. The El Capitan update is supposed to allow you to do things more simply and smarter. I really like this update because it allows me to have multiple desktop screens. I am able alternate between each screen allowing me to not have too many applications open all at once. I also love Spotlight and Launchpad, which is another addition Apple added. Spotlight is very versatile and helpful because if you just begin to type something in your finder it will pop up what you’re thinking about very easily. For example, if you type in weather in your finder, spotlight will allow it to pop up the weather of the week without even going to weather.com to see what the weather is. Launch pad is another thing that is really helpful because it allows you to view and see all your applications very easily without trying to find them somewhere in your computer incase your forgot what folder the application is …show more content…
I use a webcam with the Facetime application or Skype application. A webcam is a video camera that you use with your computer to talk to others. A webcam is very handy to have if you want to talk/see people who are across the country for free. I mainly use Facetime to talk to my friends who also have an iPhone or Mac so we could look at each other while were talking; and I mainly use Skype to talk to my family and relatives who live in other countries. Back then I would pay for phone cards and I’m so happy that they barely exist anymore! A webcam camera has made everything so much simpler and cheaper. Also they have greatly improved over the years, I still remember the days when I had an external portable webcam that was huge and the quality was not that good (very dotty/many pixels). Now they somehow managed to invent smaller cameras with better quality. Overall having my own computer has changed my life, and I am very thankful in having one. I do feel Apple is always ahead of the game in improving all their makes, models, computers systems, making them top notch. If I did not have a computer, I would probably watch TV instead of watching Netflix; I would probably read news/dictionaries/textbooks instead of googling things, and I would probably listen to the radio more often instead of using iTunes/Spotify.
