When I was younger I can also remember my mother or father reading stories to me before bed or when I was sick. My mother would always act out the character in the book to make it more interesting, it always made me laugh, but it also kept my interested in the book. I also remember while she was reading the book to me she would ask me questions about it, like what I think was going to happen next and what she thought was going to happen next.
Throughout elementary and middle school I was told to read slowly and carefully to make sure I don 't miss any words and also to make sure I 'm understanding what I am reading. I would rather read to myself, or volunteer myself to read. When people read out loud it distracts me and I don 't pay attention. Just like reading writing has never been my cup of tea either, and still this day it isn’t. I still find myself using inventive spelling hoping that the teacher knows what I am trying to say.
