My Literacy History

The basic definition of literacy is the ability to read and write. It is the fundamental characteristic of education. In other word, literacy is the ability to understand logically, think critically and solve problem. We use literacy to pass on the idea from generation to generation. The goal of literacy is to become more educational. Education as a whole helps us to understand and develop the ideas of our own. Whenever we talk about literacy we think of the educational level one have received. In a sense, literacy ties close to our daily life and the intellectual level of the person. Having the ability to read and write is only the basic literacy we use in daily life. Having the ability to understand and interpret with others is what we were looking for. LIteracy affects the way people communicate and behave, and it is essential to the way of self expression. I was born and raised in China, until i was 13. When i first came to America, not everything was going well for me. Language barrier and communication was the hardest thing for me. I went to Oak Avenue Intermediate school for 7th and 8th grade. Then i went to Temple City High School for 4 years. I graduated in the year of 2014, then i came to PCC, planning to transfer. I’ve always been the kid who does my homework at the last minute. I didn’t have good grades during my high school years. So i have to attend community college, which is not a bad thing for me. Since i wasn’t ready for college, I think I’d have a better chance at community
