Don’t Just Call this “Literacy Autobiography”
Reading has changed me in varieties of ways. Literacy is a great way to learn and to get more knowledge. Literacy is the ability to read and write and I believe that we all need literacy in our lives. When I think of the word literacy, It is the ability to read and write in a way that enables a person to function as a contributing member of society. A couple of weeks ago, I would have considered myself a very literate person. However, after reading the texts for this class, this view of myself has changed. I have become aware that there are many types of literacy existing in today's world. Reading is also a part of literacy and it is very important to not only me but to the world. I am grateful for my earlier teachers that have taught me everything about literature. One of my favorite things to read is the little stories on snapchat. That taught me how to love reading because sometimes it would be stories about sports or news about celebrities. Another thing that helped me love reading was facebook. Facebook has tons of news and stories to read from, I love reading the news. Some news I love to read was exciting news of what is going on around the world. Writing is the other thing that I love, well typing actually. My strengths as a writer is writing or typing important information on paper or on electronics. An example of this would be notes! Notes help my writing in many different ways. My weakness in writing is when I have to write something that is boring and not interesting. As a small, handsome boy growing up writing was something I struggled with. When I hear writing , I immediately start to get nervous because I wouldn’t know how to write or start a writing. Growing up I really didn’t know writing and reading could be that important. After school I used
