Everyone life story is like a book, each day brings a new page and one can go back and read past chapters or create new ones and for me more than a week ago a whole new chapter unfolded for me when I started to attended college at Shippensburg University. My family and closest friends to this day support me on everything life hits me with and because of that I have always put them first. On my free time depending on the day and setting half the time I would go outside and hang out with my friends but usually if everyone is busy I would work out or develop a new skill that will be useful for me in the future. In the first part of the article talks about the myth and gives statistics and information about the number of freshman that have dealt with this problem and dropped out of college the first year. Also the article explains that high school counselors play a large role in preparing students for their transition to college but failed to because of budget cuts being made to the school. Part two talks about academics and the standards that need to be met in college. In addition, the techniques you learned in high school most of the time won’t transition into a college based course. When one falls into a situation where they’re not getting good grades, one should seek for help from a professor, mentor, tutor or finding a study group. The next part in the article describes the social challenges one will face in college which include not making friends, and the article recommends an individual to get used to social challenges before entering to college and get involved in clubs, or sports the college has to offer. Finally, the last section in the articles talks about giving thanks to your professors or instructors in your college, because being acknowledge and appreciated can make a difference in someone’s life and further help other people just like you and maybe that person can help you longer in the
