When my 8th grade teacher and I arrived we discovered that there was very little parking left. After we finally found a spot and walked to the location we saw hundreds of people standing around the stage. They weren’t just adults, children of all ages who had lost siblings made up a surprising portion of the crowd. Tables were set up on either side displaying information for organizations that each contributed to suicide prevention. Some were hospitals and residential facilities, others were nonprofit organizations. I often hear people say they want to be in a career because it pays well, not because they truly have a passion for the job. In my case this passion was discovered from the personal pain I once felt when wondering whether life is worth living and the pain others experience when they lose a loved one to suicide. Instead of trying to decide what career will benefit us the most, maybe we should find the one that we want to commit everything we have to offer to. Once we have done that we may find that when we reach the end of our life we will have no regrets and see only the wonderful place that we have created for all of our descendants to
