Eighty-Eight Where we were sitting you could smell the freshly mowed grass. It had just rained and you could see where the people had been sitting .The stadium seats were hard and cold but it didn’t matter. I could see him standing on the side lines. He was slouching and standing next to number 58. He didn’t have on his helmet on yet so I could tell that his hair was damp from sweat. I heard them call out “Whaley” my heart was about to beat out of my chest. I couldn’t help it I yelled for him. He turned around and even through the face mask I could see he was excited. I could see his huge smile; however I could still tell he was nervous. My heart felt like it was going a hundred miles an hour my brother was about to play in his first football game. I had never been so proud in my life. Everything seemed to slow down but be fast pace all at the same time. They lined up he was squatting down on the end so I could see what was about to happen. The grass was wet and it stuck to my feet still I didn’t really care when I seen Joe. He ran right up to me and I just stared at him. My eye began to fill with tears, I wanted to say something but my throat felt tight. Joe could see it in my face so he hugged me tight. He smelled horrid. The smell of sweat and teenage B.O is never a good thing, but I didn’t care I held on tight, I was crying. He looked at me and said that I shouldn’t have been crying that he was fine, that he didn’t get hurt. I nodded and I finally mange to say “I’m so proud I have never been so proud in my life”. With tears still rolling down my face, wet grass on my feet, and the smell of sweat and body odor on my clothes, however he made it all worth it when he said “I know that’s why you are the one that’s here”. I was still crying like a little girl but I manage to mouth the words “I love you” he did the same then he told me to “dry it
