I was unsure what a builder was but I guaranteed people that it was what I longed for. Pursuing this curiosity, I enrolled in three years of architecture in high school and disappointingly, but not surprisingly my passion diminished. However, my curiosity with mathematics held. I always, ever since I was in 3rd grade, had a hunger for math. It seems that every student my age has a connection with math and particularly at Texas with its astounding engineering program, finding passionate mathematicians is effortless. However, as a child I felt exiled for my passion, it seem I was in the minority. I used to enjoy learning math so much so that I would skip recess once a week so that my teacher could quiz me on multiplication and division flash cards. As a child I was grown to compete and fostered to win. My father taught me that it was not about winning, it is about having fun, just like any other father should. I have learned that in order for myself to have fun at what I am doing I must to be doing it well. I have kept this idea with me throughout my life and it is what has advanced me in swimming and is what endorses me to seek higher education at UT. My goal is to seek a degree, but ultimately to seek a degree where I become efficient at learning and exceptional at my career. After graduating, and completing multiple internships throughout my education, I plan to pursue becoming a statistician in advertising, sports, or medicine. I know my thoughts may change so currently I have not set in stone a specific branch of statistical work that I am interested in. I project myself chasing a career until I become a valued senior level member of the company and can hopefully intern students the way I will have been interned.
My hopes and goals in a more slender view are that I can chase this appetite for statistics all the way through a degree at the best University in Texas. Being born and raised in Austin I learned to love the city and respect its values. The highest value I hold personally is education and if I attend the University of Texas I could begin my search for greater intelligence
