Waiting For The Future

Each day that I get older, the more I realize the sand in the glass slides by faster. Realizing that this time is not just going by quickly, it is spent worrying and waiting about things that I should not. From every age, I can remember something I waited to do or something for which I was excited about. When I was younger, I could not wait to grow up. I wanted to attend school, play sports, and graduate with all my friends, I looked forward to so many things in the future that I could not wait for. We all spend a lot of time waiting for many things in our lives to happen. Time is spent waiting to growing up. I use to get dropped off at my grandmas house at seven o’clock every morning, for daycare. I would head into the kitchen, pour myself a bowl of cereal and eat before all my friends showed up. I would sit on the stairs, in complete quietness waiting for the doorbell to ring. …show more content…
While I think about the future a lot, my plans for the future change all the time. When I was a kid, I thought being a young mom would be something I could do. As the time is here, I know that I am not ready for that task, and hope that it stays that way, for at least, another eight years. Playing high school sports is more than what I saw as a kid. It is not just about staying in a hotel room and getting ready with friends, it is about playing a sport that you fell in love with as a kid and creating a bond with friends in and out of the sport. With graduation coming up, it feels like an accomplishment, but at the same time it is stressful. There is so many more decisions I have to make, in order to grow up. I still have to choose a college where I want to further my education, and choose a nursing path that I want to take. Although I have grown up a ton, there 's so many more things I want to do before I grow up. A lot of my time spent thinking about my future is what I want to do or who I want to be when I am

If I could go back to the past and talk to myself in September 2013, I would tell my younger self to be prepared for the next four years. I would advise myself to plan out my work and actually do assignments ahead of time instead of putting them off until nine o'clock the night before they were due. I would tell myself to not take honors trig because it was too much to handle combined with all of my other classes, as well as saying, that just because it was recommended to take a class, it doesn't mean I should've. I would recommend actually trying to do the workouts for field hockey before preseason. That way it wouldn't be so bad in the future.…

I was in a deep sleep dreaming about my life until BOOM, my mom came in and told me to wake up. I was walking to the bathroom like a zombie to the bathroom brushing my teeth, taking a shower, and changing my clothes. We had to get to the airport as quickly as possible, because our flight leaves at five o’clock in the morning. Even though I was mad doing this I still enjoyed it because we were on our way to Florida!!This is great practice because one day I will have to do this again.…

Whether we like to admit it or not, college pressures face a large majority of the youth population. William Zinsser makes a few well-rounded points concerning these post-secondary struggles in his essay, “College Pressures.” The pressures that are mentioned in the essay are grouped into four classifications: economic, parental, peer, and self-induced. For starters, William Zinsser quotes, “They want a map - right now - that they can follow unswervingly to career security, financial security, and presumably, a prepaid grave.” This thought process of a student is very sad indeed.…

Future. That’s probably one of the scariest words I know. The future is unpredictable, it’s often wrapped in wrapping paper, ready to be opened and it can both be exciting and disappointing. While I was in Elementary, I dreamed of being a chef, a cop, a fashion designer, a softball player, a singer, and an actor. As soon as I was in middle school, I wanted to be one thing, a singer, I had decided that I liked singing enough for it to be a career, although my vocal range disagreed.…
