In my own life, this is where the tree begins. I moved to the U.S from Haiti after experiencing the dreadful earthquake. My family is from an impoverished neighborhood. My mom never attended college because of the lack supportment. I moved to the U.S to make what I have always dreamed of come true. Growing up, I came across many obstacles, people who have tried apprise me on what I should do in the future, those who are trying to write my future. For me growing up was like a roller coaster without a seatbelt, where you have to hold on from falling no matter if life is rising or descending. Even though my parents did not have a true education, they knew what was best for me, what had to be done to put me through school and expand my dream. I remembered when I moved here with my Aunt, leaving my mom behind was one of the biggest change in my life. Yes, I was pessimistic, but I knew what she would have told being in the position that I was and it would be to continue fighting and know why I started in the first place. My first school year here was in August 2010, I was in seventh grade. It was like trying to find myself because I knew no English and learning it was a struggle for me. To me all the classes I had been hard, I didn’t get any aspect of what was being taught in class. In my first semester of seventh grade I strived, and the best I knew I could get better is finding help, get tutored, work on my weaknesses. After battling my first school year, I ended up in…
