Throughout this lifetime, I have seen many close friends and family members struggle to find who they are in this world and where they want to be in the future. When I see people who cannot evolve, they dissipate into a life of drugs and alcohol instead of fighting for what they really want. It makes me take a step back and really think about what I need and deserve in my life. The things my family has given up and/or fought for my brothers, sister, and I to live a life of happiness and full of opportunities. Since I was a young girl, my life has been a series of unfortunate events and there was a lot of lessons and blessings that my family had gone through which has evolved me for half the person I am. The other half comes from the place I was raised and the environment I was surrounded by.
I grew up in an apartment, in a small town called Castro Valley. I lived with a drugged up father, who wanted nothing more than to feel that high and not care about anyone else around him, and a mom who went through abuse and neglect but still fought through for my brother and I. I spent a lot of time with a family friend when my father had gotten arrested or put in jail. They were there to help my mom out with us children while she went to work. I don’t recall much of this life, but I have heard the many struggles and lessons my mom had gone through to make sure we had the best life when we got older.
