I remember, I would always play “teacher” with my little sister and if not her than I would line up all of my teddy bears and play with them. While most little girls, would play tea time with their teddy bears, I played teacher. Even now, my favorite subject has to be english. English because you become another person from it and while English is challenging for me, I enjoy it. I love the challenge and how determined I become when it comes to English and learning new things. Actually, I am still in the most challenging academic course I have taken to date, AP United States History (APUSH). APUSH has been difficult for me due to the fact that I had very little knowledge of US history preceding my enrollment in the class. Furthermore, prior to this class I had never really had to study extensively to maintain high marks. APUSH has been different. Having little knowledge of this material, I have had to spend much more time studying.…

"Adversities can foster hope, and resilience. " This quote can be applied to many people's lives; points in their lives where they put out their best when they are faced with great challenges. I can apply this quote to my immigration from Kyrgyzstan to America. The reason I am describing this point in my life with this quote is because of the different adversities that have come with assimilating into a whole a new culture, country, and people. I first left for America with my family nearly a decade ago.…

I was unfamiliar with the process of choosing the order of courses that would transition me to graduation. As a result, I took several non-required courses, and I even took some of the needed courses, for my degree, out of order. Needless to say, I hit an academic wall that lasted five long semesters. It would have been easier for me to change majors for the sake of graduation, but being in such a predicament only sharpened my perseverance and molded my determination. While these academic complications seemed unbearable at the time, my senior year turned out to be my most challenging year.…

As we’ve studied the different types of educational philosophies in class, I’ve been able to see which category my beliefs fall into and where that puts me in the teaching world. Throughout my educational career, my family and teachers have shaped my philosophy into a combination of both romanticism and progressivism. As a teacher I want to be able to help a student strive for self-fulfillment while focusing on individual student’s learning processes. Based on my ideals, I want for my classroom to be a place where my students can go to learn in a way that suits their personality, and in a non-pressured environment. I want to be able to engage my students and challenge them to learn based on their interests.…
