My Life Becoming A Doctor

All of my life becoming a doctor was what I always dreamed. So I prepared throughout my high school and college career for that path. I shadowed doctors, brought service to others, and gained experience through internships. I was so sure that being part of the medical world as a doctor would fulfill all of my life. It was during my gap year that I started having doubts. The more I looked into the scope of a doctor the more I realized, they are there to cure and fix the problem and less about prevention. Most patients go see a doctor once the problem has occurred, but I wanted to be on the other side. The side that educated and provided motivation for patients. All of this went back to cura personalis, caring for the mind, body, and soul. It is difficult to get someone healthy when issues are cured separately. There is only so much information that can be said in a fifteen minute consult. In that short amount of time doctors cannot provide all the information needed for patients to achieve optimal health. I saw this as a frustrating factor in our healthcare system. It is already difficult for doctors to change their patient 's mind get them to want to be healthy, and only given fifteen minutes is not enough time. There is a lack of incompetency between two parties and I want to be the bridge that connects them. This is where my passion for education in the healthcare field grew. Over and over again, I saw the need for patients to know more about their health and how they can change it for the better with lifestyle changes. So I knew I had to look for something that was going to be meaningful to me and others. I stumbled upon this program and immediately liked every aspect. Achieving a masters in health and wellness coaching ties up all the components I am looking for in a healthcare
