My Journey To Anew At Santa Barbara Community College

My journey has been one of many trials. The culmination of my choices have lead me to this point, and I regret nothing. These trials have made me who I am: a person that I am proud to be. Although, I have not always been proud of myself.
After narrowly completing high school in Olympia, Washington, feeling as though my environment, lack of interest in academia and outside influences had been the cause of my underachievement, I decided that my best option was to begin anew at Santa Barbara Community College in California. I assumed that if I simply told myself that I wanted to succeed and changed my environment, even though I was not yet willing to change my habits as a student, I would magically begin to succeed. All of the failures; all of the hardships; they were mine and mine alone. It was never Santa Barbara or Seattle Central or any other external factor; it was me. The second realization that I had was that, if I was going to finish college, I was going to need to devote myself entirely to that goal. I would need to attend every class; I would need to complete every assignment; and I would need to study for every test and quiz as if it were the test or quiz that was going to decide whether or not I would be able to stay in college. Having come to these realizations and adopting them as my creed, I felt that I was ready to conquer college and make my dream of attending a four-year university a reality. My whole being is ready to transfer to a four-year university, and while I am not yet there, I see my future’s path quite …show more content…
In earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, I plan to one day assist businesses in creatively, efficiently and cost effectively informing customers and potential customers about the products and services of their businesses. And while there are many schools in the Washington area that can help me to achieve my goals, the University of Washington is the pinnacle of business education in Washington State and it is my greatest wish that I learn from the very best. In accepting me to the University of Washington, you will not only be receiving a student who is creative, passionate, and whole-heartedly devoted to his education, but you will also receive a student who has cultural understanding that is of great importance to modern
