Getting admission to medical school was like a dream coming true for me. One morning, just few days before I joined Medical school, I was eating breakfast with my family. Suddenly my mother lost consciousness and fell down from the chair. My sister started crying and we were all screaming. My father immediately grabbed cane sugar and pour in my mother’s mouth. She got her conscious back and we took her to the nearby emergency facility. The doctor on the duty asked her few questions and examined quickly and ordered some blood test. After counseling us that she is safe, he told that she has high blood sugar levels. She was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. It was quite sudden and challenging for her to accept that she is suffering from …show more content…
She started precautionary measures and started taking medicine regularly. He blood sugar levels were controlled within normal limits within few weeks. Her newly diagnosed illness sent me to the medical college with a preset goal to achieve. Now I clearly knew my objectives.
Being a medical student was more interesting than what I imagined before going to the medical school. I found medical sciences as dynamic and versatile. I studied well and enjoyed every single aspect of my life at the medical school. I worked hard, stayed focused and graduated from medical school. To complete my ultimate goal, I started working as a house intern in department of medicine after completing my diploma. My interest in Internal Medicine has grown with each experience as I believe it provides the best choice for me by enabling different and fulfilling avenues including careers in primary care as well as other medical subspecialties.
