Of course I am talking about the actions I need to perform in order for me to be successful. In the past I have taken classes that will help me prepare for the long road ahead including medical terminology and psychology 101. These classes will give me a head start when I finally leave for college. Additionally, I have also had the opportunity of talking to my counselor to see what options are available to me. Currently, I am starting to look for and apply to colleges with highly-rated psychology programs. The classes that I take in college will be the foundation of my legacy. Lastly, while in university, I plan to educate myself as much as I am able so I can become the greatest psychiatrist possible. This way I can help my future patients receive the best treatment available.. Eventually, with enough effort and patience, I also plan to help bring awareness to the illnesses that I treat. I will work diligently and hopefully my effort will help start a mental illness awareness month. I replied, “I want to be a fireman.” like any innocent child would. However, this apparently wrong because she told me that was not what she asked. For the longest time, I was confused. Looking back at it now, I realize this was one of my first contacts with the word legacy. My careers constantly changed as I grew more mature, but my legacy did not. Fireman, scientist, social worker, and psychiatry are completely different jobs, however they do have one thing in common. All of them revolve around helping people. Eventually I realized that psychiatry and the helping of patients was my ultimate legacy and nothing could get in the way of that. I now know that in the future, I won’t be pushing my children to think of a career, but towards how they want people to remember them. A career might last a lifetime, but a legacy still lasts
