Did your learning style results surprise you? A little bit, yes. Although, I have played the flute since I was 12 and musical was my highest score My second highest score was intrapersonal which is more the reflective side of my personality. The inner strength to keep going even when the times get tough. I think that these skills have been really refined when going through adversity. Learning how to cope with something outside of my own control. For instance, the loss of my husband’s job and the decision to move across the country was uncomfortable and we were dealing with several unknowns such as where we would live. A music manager is described on the blog All Music Industry Contacts, in the post, Music Manager as someone that “... handles a person’s music career by helping them with finances and merchandise”. That describes the business end of this career, but in order to help a musician you have to really love that world I think. You have to love music or respect what they do. That is what makes you better at your job. Business Administration is so versatile that it can be incorporated into almost any field. It is important to find one that is enjoyable. As a Business Administrator I may not be making the music per se, but I am in an environment where I have something in common with those that do. It would certainly be up my alley as I am in the Business Administration track here at the UoPeople and I love music. The downside of that particular job would be that the music industry in general is considered a very competitive and a difficult industry to find work in. I don’t know if that is also true for the business end of the industry or not, but I also have to consider that I have three growing kids and the music industry doesn’t seem very stable to me.
