My Learning Style Analysis

I have learned that my learning style is the Diverging style. This means that I am best at viewing concrete situations from multiple points of view. I prefer to observe while learning, rather than taking immediate action. I find thinking of new ideas and gathering information is most suitable for me. I also enjoy hearing other peoples perspectives, as I have an open mind and it allows for me to learn new things. I also benefit from hearing feedback on my ideas and work, as it will teach me ways to improve my current skills and build new ones. As an individual who is both a student and an employee, the LSI has given me insight in the way I tend to prefer to learn. When I am learning at school, I prefer focusing on lectures and taking notes to get a better understanding of the material before jumping in and working on questions and equations. During training in my past and present jobs, I always liked to have my trainer explain to me how to do the job, and watch them perform tasks, before I give it a try myself. For example, I am currently employed as a receptionist for a real estate company, and during my training, I had my notebook out took notes on how to use the appointment booking system, and wrote a script for what to say to clients and agents on the phone. I now understand that I learn best from watching, rather than doing. This means I need to focus on lectures and take good notes, and review the material before and/or after each class so that I can fully comprehend the material. I also think having a study group for each class would be very helpful, as hearing other peoples perspective and exchanging ideas is highly beneficial for me.
