• Leadership is the process of influencing people to act and/or think in a specific way by means of providing: direction, purpose, and motivation.
• I chose to define leadership in such a way for several reason. First off, the definition states that leadership is a process because it requires the leader to take action. Therefore, I believe that a laissez faire style of leadership would not constitute as leadership, because the leader is not taking action. Next, the leader takes action by clearly communicating guidance and direction to their followers. However, it’s not enough to tell followers what to do, it’s important for a leader to make the follower want to the task that’s asked of them. This is where purpose and motivation come in. It

For a long time, I had anxiety just with the idea of public speaking. I’ve been described as having a monotone way of speaking that would just put people to sleep. In order to improve my public speaking and therefore my charisma, I believe that this only comes from experience. Over the past few years in my Army ROTC program, I have been put in roles in which I was required to lead a large group of people. I grew use to having people looking and listening to me while I talked, therefore I began to feel more comfortable being in charge. Additionally, because I was developing in the program, I was more confident in the material I was teaching which allowed me to focus of the other aspects of my speaking such as tone change and …show more content…
The Rock has been a role model of mine for quite some time now, but I don’t attribute my admiration for him to his successful acting career or that fact that he is a WWE star. The reason why The Rock is my role model is because of his character. First off, The Rock is humble. In 2016, he was 2nd highest paid actor, but he still is appreciative of every fan he meets. Secondly, The Rock is hardworking. Every day the Rock has a list of things he’s got to do, but that doesn’t stop him from being in the gym at 4:30AM every morning. Finally, Rock is charismatic. Through social media is able to draw people in and positively impact people’s lives. People commonly get tattoos of his

face or quotes, because he has made such a significant impact on their lives.

A school club that has built a legacy on students who exemplify the ideals of leadership, service, character, and citizenship. How is leadership defined? Is it the ability to achieve followers, or the ability to make the right decisions? Some lead out of fear, others out of logic and reasoning. My definition of leadership is very simple: leadership is having the ability to mobilize and empower a group towards a common goal. My leadership model, as similar as it may be to that of Greenleaf's, came from home.…

Leadership is providing direction to a group of people that may be seeking or lacking greater information. Through powerful leaders, the ability to transfer knowledge among similar generations takes patience and clarity. Common to all leaders is an ability to convey their message either through stirring oratory, writing, or actions. The message must be compelling and meaningful on a level that unites and empowers people to look beyond themselves to a greater purpose. This is possibly the most unique and intangible characteristic of a leader. Many people have opinions but not many can convince, persuade or inspire others to follow them. During the Civil Rights movement, there were a number of individuals that cared as deeply for justice and equality as Martin Luther King Jr. did, but it was his character and eloquence that stirred hearts and minds.…
