A true leader has been defined as helping and believing in someone so they become more than they ever thought they could be. As a leader, I recognize what qualities I have as an individual and look to use those characteristics to express my strengths and help others. My leadership skills are displayed in the classrooms as a student at North Platte High School, at home, as well as on the field and court as a player. In the classroom, I am a leader because I continually have a positive attitude, am not afraid to challenge myself or others to improve to their full potential, and love studying hard. Having determination, hard work, and sharp skills, I have been able to maintain a 4.0 throughout my studies at North Platte High School. I am not afraid to encourage my friends and classmates to value good grades as well, and often they look to me for help with things they don’t understand. I also try to be a good role model with the choices and behavior I exhibit to my teachers and leaders in school. …show more content…
As the oldest, I feel that I want to be a positive role model to my siblings and be a man they can look up to. Only having my mother around the house makes it necessary for me to do more to help her and our family. Sometimes when my Mom is out picking up kids or working late, she needs me to help her with dinner. I have learned to cook, but also how important it is to clean up the mess. I always involve my little brothers and sister too so they can learn as well. I also help her some nights pick up my siblings at practices and school, help with laundry, and many other household things. I have learned to delegate chores and that together we can get a lot more accomplished! I feel like my siblings have learned a lot about teamwork and how to work hard by me striving to be a good role model for them. Having more responsibilities has helped me mature and grow as a person, as

I think leadership is an important aspect that one needs to show daily throughout their life. In school I’ve shown leadership through helping my friends and others with homework or any class work. Knowing that I am able to help them and advise them through what they’re doing makes me feel good about myself. When I have work to do in class, I prefer to settle myself down and get what I need to get done before I socialize which is another way I have demonstrated leadership. Through sports I’ve laid out leadership by showing good sportsmanship and working together to be able to succeed.…

The meaning of leadership is being a leader to others whether that be a group, an organization, or to younger/older kids. I have demonstrated leadership in several different ways. One way is through my school. By showing leadership, I do what is expected of me from showing others how something is done when it’s either on the court, in the classroom, in the hallways, or downtown. People are always watching and looking up to the older ones and for me that is a big responsibility to take on and take advantage of.…

Ever since I started high school my freshman year, I was always interested in having some kind of leadership role in the clubs that interested me. Unfortunately I wanted until my junior to take up any leadership positions. However, these leadership positions have changed me for the good, and I will forever be thankful for it. Taking up these roles forced me to step outside of my comfort zone, which in turn made me a more bubbly, less shy person. Also, I can tell it has affected how I work at my job.…

For one to be seen as a leader in a certain role one must acquire the skills of vision, critical and/or creative thinking, respect, communication, teamwork, and ethics. Whether it something as simple as being a leader in a school project or being a captain for a sports team, being a leader carries responsibilities that affect the outcome of everyone involved in a group. Given these points, a personal experience of when I was a leader for a certain role was when I was a co-captain of my middle schools Lady Hawks basketball team. This role gave me responsibilities from leading stretching to directing plays during the games, and all my decisions affected everyone else on the team. For example, if I called out a play in the middle of an intense,…
