My Leadership Philosophy Essay

My leadership philosophy is based around respect and balance. Leadership comes down to two types of people, leaders and managers; characteristics of Leadership for me are charisma, honesty, respect, selflessness and passion. I regularly try to meet all of the leadership characteristics listed in the previous sentence but I catch myself from time to time missing that mark. Constructive criticism works up and down, I will expect everyone to hold themselves and their superiors to that expectancy. In this command philosophy I will explain each of these characteristics as well as what you can expect of me, expectations of you, our priorities, how I will evaluate and standards that I expect each of you to hold me to.

Leadership characteristics are the differentiating factor between a manager and a leader. Anyone can learn to be a manager by measuring, refining, implementing and guiding Soldiers, which is a part of leadership but isn’t what defines a leader. Charismatic leaders are the most addicting of leadership styles, it’s the leader that you’d follow to the gates of Hell just because you feel a strong connection with them. To me, I try to use

I have no personal agenda, but I will focus on priority topics. Things I feel are on a higher priority than others will be first on my trackers, so what’s high on my priorities will be transparently sent to you in descending order. Passion drives our dedication, dedication drives our work ethic and work ethic can pull us away from our families. Having said that, I am task driven so if your task is complete and your passion is at home with your kids do not spend too much time in the office after duty hours to try to get one more thing done for tomorrow. If your passion isn’t in the office with you then your work potential is much lower than it would be in the morning. Go where your passion is today and start fresh at that task in the

In a community, being a leader is often difficult due to all the components and struggles that go into being one. A leader is an individual who can take charge in various situations, and do it effectively in a way which makes others follow them. Throughout my years, I have grown from being a primarily shy person to someone who is not afraid to step up and be the leader I am now. Today, I am able to consistently demonstrate what it is to be a leader in my daily life. Although coming into high school as a freshman was intimidating for me, I knew that in order to succeed, I needed to open up and try something new.…

A leader, the person who leads or commands a group. That's the Merriam-Webster definition, but that seems far too simple a definition for a character who's actions and influences can reverberate for days, weeks or even generations to come. Often the word leader calls to mind a vision of Martin Luther King Jr., a military officer, or the President of the United States? A leader, in my opinion, is someone who leads a group with integrity, and with a passion to serve others. Leaders need to have values and character straits admirable to others.…

One character trait that I find fits me well is realistic. I set my goals high and work hard to reach them, but I also make sure that my goal can be reached. I believe it is worse to fail a goal you set that was too demanding of you than to succeed and keep aspiring higher with time. To be realistic is a significant trait that everyone should own. It allows one to live up to their greatest potential and to constantly improve themselves.…

The meaning of leadership is being a leader to others whether that be a group, an organization, or to younger/older kids. I have demonstrated leadership in several different ways. One way is through my school. By showing leadership, I do what is expected of me from showing others how something is done when it’s either on the court, in the classroom, in the hallways, or downtown. People are always watching and looking up to the older ones and for me that is a big responsibility to take on and take advantage of.…

Ever since I started high school my freshman year, I was always interested in having some kind of leadership role in the clubs that interested me. Unfortunately I wanted until my junior to take up any leadership positions. However, these leadership positions have changed me for the good, and I will forever be thankful for it. Taking up these roles forced me to step outside of my comfort zone, which in turn made me a more bubbly, less shy person. Also, I can tell it has affected how I work at my job.…

A true leader has been defined as helping and believing in someone so they become more than they ever thought they could be. As a leader, I recognize what qualities I have as an individual and look to use those characteristics to express my strengths and help others. My leadership skills are displayed in the classrooms as a student at North Platte High School, at home, as well as on the field and court as a player. In the classroom, I am a leader because I continually have a positive attitude, am not afraid to challenge myself or others to improve to their full potential, and love studying hard.…

When many think of a leader they think of a person that commands directions for a group. My definition, however, is a little different, as a leader I like to show the way by example rather than authorities order. Along with being a leader I also strive to be respectable by having strong core values and not being afraid to stand up for what I believe in, despite how many followers I have, as long as I am acting with honesty and integrity. As a seventh grade student, you start facing new changes in your life, having more questions, and you start to develop who you want to be for the rest of your life.…

As a team, we will each work to expand on these characteristics by learning and building on our experiences. When asked: “How did you come to that philosophy, what traits and leadership characteristics do you think are important for a leader to possess and how those apply to your philosophy and the success of your organization?” My philosophy is supported with one of four classic approaches used to define the basic concept of leadership, the transactional approach. This approach tells us that the way one leads is directly attributed to the accumulation of influence to the reciprocal transactions between leaders and followers. Additionally, this philosophy is supported by Abraham Maslow’s theory that once the basic needs of survival and security are met, people concern themselves with higher needs like…

My Personal Leadership Philosophy and How it has Developed As a leader I am very unique. I hold strong personal values in the areas of trust, respect, and responsibility. I believe that no one person should be responsible for someone else, but that we have to grow up and learn to take care of ourselves. Prior to this course, I perceived leaders as people who told a group of people what to do in order to accomplish a task. When I was put in a leadership position I was always effective, but I never really took the thoughts or feelings of others into consideration.…
