My Leadership Philosophy And Expectations

Leading is being ethical and maintaining values instilled in me since childhood: integrity, respect, morale courage and commitment. A leader will be fair with the distribution of awards and punishment and communicate to their Soldiers the circumstances surrounding the situation to maintain or correct. Leading is not just being right, I am open to and will accept constructive criticism. As a leader, I earn the respect of my Soldiers through my leadership, I am an honest leader. Leadership is not just accomplishing the mission it is, understanding my team, knowing their strengths, areas needing improvement and using it to accomplish the mission. My Soldiers are a direct reflection of me! These are all factors of my philosophy, this paper clarifies my philosophy and expectations and give my Soldiers insight into my leadership style and expectations. My philosophy is mission first, soldiers always. I will always keep an open mind regardless of the situation, considering various views, and foster a climate of creativity and ingenuity. …show more content…
I take care of my Soldiers, in turn they will take care of the mission and me. I stay informed and updated on various changes that arise and disseminate that information to my team. Communication with higher echelons on their expectations is required so that I can mirror that for my area of responsibility and clarify expectations of my Soldiers. My priority will always be the mission and my Soldiers. Mentorship and motivation are tools I use to guide and groom my Soldiers to be better and replace me.
