My Leadership Goals

My goal is to be someone who is relatable while effectively leading my organization to success. One day, I absolutely want to hold a leadership position within my company. I am the type of person that whatever role or tasks I put myself in, I want to do it the best and give it 110%. Therefore, hopefully when one day I am a leader within a company, I hope I am the best leader and others can look up to me as someone they want to follow. Being a good leader is important to me, but so is being a good role model. There have been so many influential people in my life that have been great leaders and role models that have modeled me into who I am. So, I hope I can pass the torch, and am able to be a great leader and role model to others.
Based on the strengths and weaknesses I discussed above, I will use those in aiding me to be that better role model and leader. I can use my ability to adapt well by learning quickly to teach others who may not be able to pick up on things as quickly. I am a firm believer in being a team player, and helping everyone get to the same level. Therefore, I can use my ability to adapt, to help others more quickly learn and adapt.

I read a phrase and technique during my leadership training research that I thought was a great way to approach confrontation. It said something to the affect that if you want to make constructive criticism easier to hear, use a “compliment sandwich”. A compliment sandwich is first telling the person a nice compliment, followed by a bit of criticism, then followed by another compliment. This technique can help me deliver the constructive criticism in a way that will not downgrade the employee and prevent them from just shutting me out. Hopefully, by doing such, the employees will feel as the feedback is to help them and our organization
