Since the beginning of scouting in the US, less than 2% of all scouts have become Eagle Scouts. This statistic reveals a small group of individuals, but the importance is in the diverse skills that I have attained and how I utilize my scouting experiences for the benefit of society. I am an outlier in the mainstream, but more importantly, I am a catalyst for diversity. My experience in scouting embodies the importance of participation and inclusion that extends into my everyday life. At NC State, I could contribute and benefit from campus diversity through involvement to improve the community .
The best way I contribute and benefit from diversity is through involvement.
