I lived in Cameroon for 8 years of my life. My mother sold fruits and vegetables at the local market to fund her way through a cosmetology internship and my father worked at his brother in law’s pharmacy. My parents did the best they could to raise my brothers and I to provide for all of our needs. My father moved to America when I was four years old and four years later we moved here as well to join him. It was a completely different world from what I was use to, I spoke some english due to the class I took at school back home but I had to learn everything else all over again in a new language. Both of my parents did not attend college so they worked odd jobs here and there to make a living. My mother continued to pursue her passion for hair
