Was there a time in life when you were struggling and someone reached a hand out for you to grab? There are probably many caring events that happened throughout your life, but narrow it down to one specific event that was quite memorable and shows you a new way of being cared about. Of course, anyone can easily remember the many times he/she was cared for by a family member or friend when times were hard for him/her. In my case, my boss had given me a valuable item to take with me to nursing school although it may be small, it will give an important start on my journey as a nursing student. Trust is developed when the nurse spends quality time with the client to improve his/her health and wellness. The nurse’s past experiences show the client how professional she/he is by showing specialized nursing skills and making sure the client is in a comfortable setting where he/she can express more details about the illness. Also, the nurse creates this framework of honesty that earns the client’s trust by following through with care and keeping commitments. It is important that the nurse cares for the client using these attributes of trust. My past experience with trust has made me more sensitive to the importance of client care involvement and ensures me that I will be able to translate this into my future practice.
