My Interview With A Cardiologist

I chose to interview three different doctors each from separate specialties. These specialties included a cardiologist, chiropractic physician and an optometric physician. Each doctor answered questions pertaining to preparing for their career, the job market and the positives and negatives to their jobs. I interviewed a cardiologist named Dr. Frank Amico. He answered all of my questions about what it takes to be a cardiologist and also explained to me why he loves his job. He spent a total of twelve years and $228,000 on his schooling after high school. The twelve years included four years of an undergraduate degree, medical school, and completing his residency. Amico what the positive and negatives were in his career, he replied with, “Mostly I enjoy saving someone’s life in an emergency which is why I picked the fields I did” (Dr. F Amico, personal web communication, September 27, 2016). He expressed to me the skills he learned allows him to save people’s lives. His salary also allows him to provide for his immediate family and assist any other family members who may need help.
