By reading Bethany’s book Soul Surfer she became an even bigger inspiration in my life. Ever since I was a little girl, I always looked up to Bethany Hamilton. When I first heard her story I couldn’t believe how she dragged herself out of her lowest point and fought her way back to achieve her dreams.

I have a loving family, an education and much more. One thing that is so inspirational about Bethany, it that she does the same thing. She never thinks as herself as a lesser person and is grateful for all she has. It is absolutely amazing how she never let her disability get in the way of her life. Even when she felt like giving up, she still found the courage inside her to keep fighting for her dreams and look at her life now.

Bethany Hamilton is now 27 years old. She has had an amazing professional surfing career and was awarded with Best Comeback Athlete ESPY Award. She is currently married with one kid. She has started a new chapter in her life and has showed me and many others that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. So when people ask me who my inspiration in life is, I will proudly say Bethany Hamilton, mostly because of her aspiration and dedication to living out her
