My Immigration story happened on October 2nd, 1916. My great great grandparents migrated from Mexico to the United States on that day. Franco is their last name. Both my grandparents were very young they were teenagers at the time this was happening. The story behind them migrating how it all came about is my great great grandpa he knew Poncho Villa he did work with him. Work that was very dangerous and scary Poncho Villa was a commander and was to be obeyed back then. My great great grandpa was very afraid of him. On October 2nd 1916 my great great grandpa and his friend meet with Poncho Villa. They were ordered to kill someone by Poncho Villa like in ordered to be accepted they had to kill someone sort of like an initiation what the gang does. My great great grandpa friend went first. Whiling my grandpa waited for his friend to return, he sat and just thought how he was going to get out of this. He didn’t want to kill no one. Poncho Villa told my grandpa it was either them or his life. He went to see my great great grandma and told him what he had to do my grandma said we need to leave now. My great great grandparents worked very hard their whole life. My great grandma and her sisters and brothers were raised being very poor, they only had the bare minimum. They grew up on beans and water and they shred all their clothes. My great great grandparents never became citizens they worked farm jobs, their whole life in the United States. My great great grandpa worked all the way till he died. He had no choice they had a total of 9 kids. The story about having 9 kids is he loved family he had to grow up without his brothers and sisters and he wanted his kids to have a lot of brothers and sisters to grow up with he wanted them to do things together and take care of each other.
