My Images Of God

If I think of an image of God, my first causal thought is a visual image of God the Father. I would picture that God is someone like a Moses or Noah type figure. I do not believe that God is human like in appearance but that is my initial thought. There are times I imagine God is like a cloud but this cloud covers the entire earth. It is as if my view of God is he must have eyes like us in order to know what is going on with everyone. I believe he is all knowing and all-powerful yet I still consider that God must view the world with x-ray type vision to know what everyone is doing at all times. I believe God knows everything so of course he does not have to see everything to know each of us. This is a contradiction in my views but this is …show more content…
I explained earlier my view of God the Father. For Jesus, I have the typically portrait image of man with long brown hair and a beard. I imagine a literal view of him in heaven as seated at the right hand of the Father as described in the Apostles’ Creed. Jesus is the human form of God. This image of God is clear to me because of his human appearance. I cannot think of any other view of Jesus except the view of him nailed to the cross. This is how I would begin to describe him yet it is beyond comprehension to try to fit God in a world based on laws of physics. His creation of the universe has reason and that reason is love. God gave his only son to the world so he (Jesus) could be put to death on the cross so all people could have eternal life who believes in him. There is no greater demonstration of love then to give your only Son to be put to death so he could be the savior of the world. His relationship to us is just like that of a parent to a child but his children are all of us. His love is endless. Yet, He is always there. He does not tire or become too busy to listen instead, God forgives no matter have many times we fail to do his will. God is compassionate in our times of sorrow and helps us heal from our physical, mental and spiritual issue. My perception of God is he knows everything including past, present and future but not in the time box as we look at time. It is as if God sees time all at once. God does reveal his message to us through different ways. The Bible is one of the ways that can help guide us to follow his message as well as the messages delivered through the prophets and Jesus. Prayer is our method to communicate with God for help, advice or just to have someone that will listen. While God may not speak to us verbally, it may be our intuition or inner feelings are actually
