We have certain impressions and every one of us possess complete opposite appearances, although we all come to one huge curiosity leading to the question; who am I? Whether it is physicality, mentality, or perception, every individual owns an identity. Identity is something that provides person individuality. Our identities are socially constructed and the basics of where we came from and what country we originate from are only some factors of our identity. There is much more to dissecting one’s identity than just seeking to know their home land. Some basic points of identity people normally refer to are: gender, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Because I was born and raised in the United States so I have the American side of me. My parents originating from Pakistan, I also have that side Muslim culture built inside of me. I’m ecstatic and prideful to represent this culture. Just as an opinion, I wouldn’t ask or trade it for anything. Going in depth about the Pakistani culture that I represent, I come from a Muslim family, biased, but to me it’s the most peace and joy filled religion in the world. We practice Islamic rights and rituals. I observe the month of Ramadan with my family; one of the more highly significant months in the Muslim religion. Thirty days of the month where we abstain from food and water during the hours of daylight, each day from the bright and early sunrise, to sunset late at night. However, that is only one of many aspects to Ramadan. Many people wonder if water is an exception, it is not. The reaction I receive makes me laugh out loud. The respected salute we earn is a priceless feeling. Their response is always something along the lines of being shocked or saying “Wow I could never do
