Beliefs About Nursing Essay

Beliefs about Nursing Everyone should be entitled to believe in what they think is right. We are entitled to form our own opinions, ideas and beliefs. I feel very strongly about nursing. It is the path I am choosing for my career. My love nursing is a passion that runs deep in my heart and for that reason I feel very strongly about nursing. For many years now people all over the world have been told that they should believe in what they are told to believe in by others. People usually only tell us that we have to believe in something other than what we do because they think it is right. This is not true, we should believe in something because we want to. I have met an extreme amount of amazingly educated nurses over the years. They are part of the reason I decided that I wanted my future career to be in nursing. Growing up over the past few years I have begun to realize that my belief about nursing not being one of the hardest jobs is not really true. Nursing is one of the hardest jobs to have. For example, nurses are people who work on the weekends, and miss holidays with their families because they are at their job taking care of someone else’s family to ensure that they get better. Nurses have to administer medicines, give shots, and do different tests. Not only do they do all of this, they have to chart all of it. Charting is where the nurses have to write down the information gathered about the patient throughout the day. For example, what time, day and date they gave them their medicine and what they gave them. Another example is that they are always on run morning, noon, or night someone is always there if we need anything. All of these are qualities that can be found in almost every nurse. Not only have the nurses I have met in the past years influenced me to want to become a nurse and change my beliefs about nursing, but my family has helped to change that as
