The visualization of our ideal self is important, it serves to motivate us to always improve something in our lives and to be better. Sometimes, the ideal self can be harmful to our self-concept if our ideal self is unobtainable, resulting in a negative effect to our self-concept making us feel as we are lacking in an area of our life.
