Writing freely allows me to organize my thoughts. It helps me in my career as well as my personal life. For instance, when I was dating, I would write letters and emails to my significant other instead of trying to communicate face-to-face. This prevented me from being constantly interrupted. Once I had completed my thoughts in writing, I would read and revise what I’d written immediately, then I would wait a while before reading and revising it again. Oftentimes, while I was angry, I’d write letters or emails that were never sent because time had passed, my anger had subsided or I’d found comfort by simply writing out my feelings at the time when I was angry.
