A Humorous Letter

Hello. It is a great pleasure and privilege to be able to write to you. I know our countries have many disagreements, and have many different views. I hope this letter will bring us closer together, and transcend the barriers of race and politics. There are many questions that I would like to ask, but those can wait for another letter. For now, I would like to talk about my home, traditions, family, and a few other things about me.

My home is simple in design. It is a loft home, with two bedrooms upstairs. Both the front and back door are painted red, so you can see it from the street. My wife and I fenced in the entire back yard with horse wire, and keep our dogs there. It is sparsely furnished, but we plan on finishing that

The holidays are a big tradition that cannot be overlooked. We recently celebrated thanksgiving, which in our culture is where we come together to feast and give thanks for what we have. Another big holiday is Christmas. Do your people celebrate Christmas in The Democratic Republic of Korea? Before Christmas we set up a tree, usually it is a fur pine. We decorate it with globes, and souvenirs we pick up along the year. We put strings of lights on the tree, and leave it lit up at night. Not a lot of people put gifts under their trees anymore, but my family is one of the few that still do. When December twenty-fourth rolls around, we sit down and pass out the presents that were put under the tree. No one leaves unhappy, and everyone is thankful for what they received. This is the joy of our traditions. Do your people have any similar …show more content…
Although there is much controversy with me writing to you. Our people have never gotten along, and I fear that this letter may not find you well. I was recently reading an article called North Korea’s military policies are irrational by Ralph Toledano, and it talks about the disagreements, and even the irrational thinking of the glorious leader Kim Jong Il. It speaks how “Even Kim Jong Il’s wildest successes can make his country no more than a thorn in the side of the east and west, a nation-sized suicide bomber.” This is disheartening to hear, because I believe we could do so much more if we could work together. I truly believe that this letter, and us becoming pen pals could transcend what our countries are. I hope that one day you would make me feel welcome, and I would visit your home. I hope someday to show you my home as well.

It has been a pleasure to write this letter, and to allow you a glimpse into my life. I hope this letter finds you well, and that you would write me back as well. I hope my letter helps you to better understand our culture, and bring our ideals in line with one another. I truly believe that this letter will bring our people closer together, and we can overlook the past and move forward to the future. We are all one people when we look past the wrongs, and look to the rights. Have a wonderful day, and a wonderful life

    Letter To Daddy

The poem “A Letter to Daddy” is written in a letter format, composed by a faithful son with a kind heart that yearns to see his father again. The boy describes how well he is currently living in the Scout camp during the Holocaust. The tone of the story consistently stays happy, despite the unfortunate fate he’s most likely headed to, along with his mother. Although the way the boy writes to his father remains strong and positive, it still made me feel downcast. Jewish people were treated as an outcast to society, and the boy was so appreciative of what he has, even through this dreadful experience.…
