The interesting thing about this school was they had a block schedule, where students took one class at a time for three and a half weeks, and then moved on to the next class. I knew a couple of people who were going to school there, it seemed like a “doable” work load in an environment where I wouldn’t feel lost, and it was set in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee. Here I was alone in a new city, at a bigger school, in a place I of which I knew nothing. I lived off campus and ended up having a roommate from Montenegro, which I loved because I got to know the international student community immediately after settling in to my new life. I began to grow into an individual, finding my way and becoming confident in my abilities. I met other people from Poland, France, and Italy, and enjoyed learning about them and their cultures. I maintained a long distance relationship for 2 years with Paul, and also began getting straight A’s in my major. My GPA went up from the embarrassing number I had upon arrival, and I began to
