My High School Career

High school is the transition between middle school and college, thus it is a significant point in a student's’ academic career. It is a time where students have to use more effort and new habits are set, so skills like organization will be crucial in college. Looking back, I can reflect on my high school years and conclude there are various things one should yield for consideration. Therefore, there are a few recommendations that I can suggest to someone starting their high school career. Middle school was the time of one’s educational career where homework was a heavy influence on grades. In high school, it’s much more complex than that, for one has to exhibit effort on homework, quizzes, and anything that is assigned. This is crucial because one should always be using the maximum effort in any assignment. Effort is a good habit that is a key component to success and can lead to other essential skills, such as time management. Procrastination is the enemy of effort. If you have less time to do something, it’s more likely that you will not put as much effort into it, or the work may be poor compared to if you started it …show more content…
However, another key idea is that high school presents various challenges. Sometimes you will fail, other times you will achieve. In high school, you will learn that failure will exist sooner or later. It is important that you persevere these failures or other hardships. These occurrences can create opportunities that will mostly lead to learning experiences. For example, obtaining a “F” on a quiz can encourage you to change your studying habits for the better. Personally, I have experienced this more than once and it has enabled me to alter my study habits. Now, I make sure that I study ahead so that I don’t attempt to study most of the material the day before. Basically, life is about learning from experiences and failures will help you improve or learn something
