The first part of it was great with beautiful weather and a decent lunch, unfortunately that was the end of our luck for the day. Apparently, we missed the turn off for the trail. Okay, no big deal, so we turned back and found the right part of the trail. Now at this part of the trail, there was a mini stream, maybe 3 inches deep, and 2 or 3 feet across. This is where it got frustrating. At first we thought of this as no big deal, but Bryan was adamant about not crossing it. It wasn’t like we could pick him up, or push him, so we tried our best to get him across. We tried gentle encouragement, sportlike cheering, but nothing would get him to move. It was beyond frustrating; it was easy to cross, but nothing would move Bryan. To add to this, there were stormclouds rolling in, and we still hadn't gotten to camp to set up. Finally, after too long, he started moving, very slowly but it didn’t matter. After we got across we still had a small mountain to climb. The climb was rough because of our backpacks, but at least Bryan was moving. We stopped every 2 minutes or so at first, but then it started to rain. We started climbing as quickly as we could, one person even threw up. Finally getting to the top we set up camp and
