I was 15 when my father, and uncle Maffeo came back, and found out that Clement IV, the pope, had died. They stayed for two years. Waiting to see who the new pope would be, but we haven’t heard yet, so they decided to leave for the Mongol court, and they took me with them, and before we left, Teobaldo, a friend gave us letters to give to the Mongol emperor. A few days after being on our expedition, we heard that Teobaldo was elected pope as Gregory X. We went down to Acre to receive credentials, and two friars to help on our journey.

As we proceeded up to Laiazzo, the friars left. Then we continued down to Tabriz, and went through a desert, which many bandits inhabited, before we reached Hormuz by the Persian Gulf. Historians believe that the mongol invasion of europe and asia brought about positive as well as negative consequences. One way they should this is by the mongols tricking their enemies. In passage one it says they told their enemy that they surrender and waited till they all came out of their castle to slaughter everybody they saw.this supports my thesis because it shows that they tricked people a lot.so by doing that they cant help each other because they could just think the mongols are trying to trick them so they won't believe them and won't help them do anything. In passage two it says a good thing they did was introduce trade and help make trading routes.when the mongols made routes to trade on they allowed people to get goods they couldn't get where they live and it helped spread culture and religions to other parts of the world.while the road was new it started a period of peace called pax mongolia.with the new trails they opened up hospitals and orphanages.…

The term “hero” has been around since the late fourteenth century; however, the term is of an uncertain origin (Etymology, paragraph 2). Based upon controversial etymology beliefs, Webster’s Dictionary defines a ‘hero’ as an individual that is admired for his or her great acts or fine qualities. According to Joseph Campbell, the author of The Hero with a Thousand Faces, an individual must go through the cycle of the hero 's journey. The life of a real life hero is reflected by the epic literary example “The Hero’s Journey” that is exhibited in the book The Hero with a Thousand Faces; therefore, a hero in today’s world must undergo the same twelve stages that are listed in “The Hero’s Journey.” The hero’s journey is known for telling…

The journey did not turn out the way I hoped it was going to be because the journey was the hottest journey I ever traveled in a long time, but it was a little rain so that made it a little cold but not that cold but it was cold enough that I was not hot but I was warm, something I liked was that I got water from the god because I was feeling like I was about to die at the time. I would say that it was worth the time because it was a work out for me because I lost a lot of weight when it was very hot. In Susan Whitfield’s Life Along the Silk Road, she takes primary sources from the Dunhuang Manuscripts to create conglomerate characters, proving the inaccuracy of the popular phrase “Silk Road, ” a label for popular trading networks that stretched all the way from Rome, Africa, India, and China. In her introduction, Whitfield makes it clear to her readers of the origin of the term “Silk Road.” The first to coin this phrase was a German geographer, Baron Ferdinand von Richthofen. Many students throughout the years learn of the Silk Road as a single route from Rome to China, exchanging goods, especially the Chinese silk. This is, however, is a false narrative and extremely limiting definition of the trading network, itself.…
